Landsbanki places a high priority on your Internet security. We make every effort to ensure your personal information remains secure and inaccessible to unauthorised parties.
When you open Landsbanki's Personal Internet Banking or Corporate Internet Banking, your browser transmits your user name and password from your computer to our server using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. SSL encrypts this information before it leaves your computer, thus ensuring that only Landsbanki's server can read it.
Once you have logged in, you can ensure that your Internet connection is secure in two ways:
- Check for the tiny padlock
icon, which is usually located in the bottom right corner of your browser window. A closed (locked) padlock indicates a secure connection. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may have to placa a check mark beside "Status Bar" in the View menu at the top of your browser in order for the padlock to be visible.
- Check for the symbols "https://" at the beginning of the URL (in the Address line of your browser). The letter "s", for "security" indicates a secure connection.
